3. While we were at Qumran - the location of the dead sea scrolls - we witnessed an army helicopter rescue.  Apparently it's a very famous place to rock climb.  One of the leaders of the group fell and broke his neck.

4/5. This is from on top of Masada, where the Jews fled when Jerusalem was destroyed by Rome in 70.  It was a mountain top fortress (actually a steep plateau with cliffs all around) overlooking the Dead Sea.  It is a place of great patriotism for the Jewish people.
