It's difficult not to love the Eastern Bluebird.  They truly have a uniqueness about them unlike any other bird it seems.  It's no surprise that there are so many bluebird societies while not many finch or wren societies.

This is a pair who decided to accept my gracious invitation to have a clutch in the house I provided for them in my backyard.  I eagerly awaited the fledging of their young to photograph them in my birdbath.  Of course after they fledged I was away for about 5 weekends in a row so I missed them all.

As with nearly all birds, the male is the brightly colored one.
